Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday, November 4, revealed that Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula gave Ksh500 as a donation for his campaigns.<\/p>\n

While attending Ford Kenya’s National Delegates Conference which endorses Wetangula as the party’s presidential candidate, the Wiper boss disclosed how the Bungoma senator helped him kickstart his political career.<\/p>\n

Kalonzo went ahead to add that the funds were helpful to him in his first parliamentary campaign in the early 1980s – attributing his success as a politician to the kind gesture of the embattled Ford Kenya party leader.<\/p>\n

“My brother Wetangula is a dear friend. I went to parliament before him. He must have been studying me closely. I can disclose here that Wetangula, practising as a young advocate, contributed a lot of money to me at the beginning of my political journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe sent me so much money that made me go for a whole week campaigning with Ksh500,\u201d Kalonzo disclosed.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the former Vice President also revealed that the donation cemented their relationship, citing their long political partnership.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat money, call it seed money, is what has actually brought us together and we have been there for trusted friends. You can remember in 2013 how we were teargassed together with Raila,” he stated.<\/p>\n

On his part, Wetangula went ahead to narrate how they began their friendship before he joined parliament.<\/p>\n

“Kalonzo has been my friend since 1985, Gideon Moi’s father picked me from my law firm and made me a member of parliament when I least expected and I have walked with Musalia Mudavadi from the day I was nominated in Parliament,\u201d Wetangula revealed.<\/p>\n

The Wiper leader went ahead to popularize OKA among the delegates further criticising Deputy President William Ruto for his economic policies.<\/p>\n

“I’m told a young man in Mbooni is now living injured. He was given Ksh 29,000 to share among his mates who later cut him. Is that what bottom-up is really about?” the former VP asked.<\/p>\n

“I want to tell Kenyans to take the money they bring to you. In fact, tell them that the ones that they have brought to you are not enough,’ the former VP advised.<\/p>\n

At the event, Kalonzo was also accompanied by his OKA counterpart and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.<\/p>\n
