Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenyan traders importing goods from the Middle East and Africa no have a new platform for sourcing goods and logistics.<\/p>\n

The wholesale e-commerce platform, DUBUY.com, is an online marketplace that helps businesses access global markets.<\/p>\n

With eight existing terminals on the African continent, the platform developed by trade enabler, DP World, is expected to create a strategic trading gateway into East Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the African Continental Free Trade Area now in effect, the eyes of the world will be on the continent therefore businesses should digitise how they engage with suppliers and distributors,\u201d said Mahmood Al Bastaki, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Trade World.<\/p>\n

Ministry of Trade chief administrative officer David Osiany said such strategic partnerships are catalysts for the country’s industrialisation policy and are in line with the Kenya’s Vision 2030 ideals.<\/p>\n

Osiany said the partnerships will build an easy-access market for Kenyan entrepreneurs to secure long-term, sustainable business growth.<\/p>\n

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KNCCI) said DUBUY.com’s opening in the country is a testament to a conducive investment climate in Kenya.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis platform is part of the digital economy blueprint that will embrace new technological and logistical innovations that will enable Kenya\u2019s and Africa\u2019s ability to leapfrog economic growth for sustainable development,\u201d said Richard Ngatia, President, KNCCI.<\/p>\n

The latest expansion of DUBUY.com follows its launch in Rwanda earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Rwanda has since received more than 500,000 website visits from sellers and buyers in Africa, built a community of more than 4,000 active merchants on the platform, and saw particular success in the sale of automotive supplies and kitchen appliances.<\/p>\n
