These canes are either adjustable or non-adjustable.

According to Fashionable Canes, a hammock chair with a carry bag made of genuine brown leather costs approximately Ksh10,000 ($89.00). Individuals using this cane are limited to having a maximum weight of 113 kilograms (250 Pounds), a minimum height of 5 feet, 2 inches and a maximum height of 6 feet, 4 inches.

This cane comes with an installed tip, but buyers can request additional tips.

The seat canes come in handy when taking a break while walking or climbing hilly areas. This adjustable hammock seat cane allows the Head of State to comfortably sit and rest his feet after he has been on the go.

The handles, when pulled apart, present a nice leather seat for him to rest. When he is ready to move again, all he needs is to pull the handles together, grab the stick and walk. The adjustable shaft is great for users of different heights and the leather-wrapped handles provide a comfortable grip.

Non-adjustable seat canes also cost Ksh10,000 on Fashionable Canes. They also can not only be used to walk but can also be turned into a convenient seat to lean on.

The seat cane has a convertible tip that can be used either on soft ground or hard surfaces. One unscrews the rubber tip and attaches the metal plate to create a tip that will stick to soft ground and prevent the cane from sinking too far in.

Individuals using this cane are limited to having a maximum weight of 113 kilograms (250 Pounds), a maximum height of 5 feet, 10 inches.

Safety Warnings

Users are cautioned against using the canes on sandy, wet or other slippery surfaces.

“Use only on stable and level surfaces. Failure to do so may cause you to fall, which may result in an injury. Always inspect your seat stick for damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.

“Never sit directly on top of the seat. Sitting with the seat stick in a vertical position is not recommended,” the safety warning statement adds.

Instructions for Single Point Seat Canes

Stand with your feet shoulder length apart and the shaft at a slight angle away from you.

Slowly lean back on the seat. When used properly, your legs and the seat stick should resemble a tripod with approximate shoulder-width apart between all three points.

Use on soft ground requires a special tip.

“Canes are not intended to be used as a crutch for full weight-bearing. An important consideration in choosing a cane is to match the cane with the user’s body size so that the cane becomes the key to better mobility and safety for the user. Canes are not designed to substitute for bearing all the weight you normally would on your legs, such as crutches but to provide you with an extra foot on the ground for balance.

“The cane adds a third point of ground contact that alters the biomechanics of walking to affect balance, relieve painful joints and provide stability to the user. Canes are only used for casual or novelty use and are not promoted or used for medical use,” Fashionable Canes advises.

For More News And Analysis About Kenya Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Kenya.
