Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kitui Governor, Charity Ngilu, has launched a scathing attack on Deputy President, William Ruto, over what she termed as the DP\u2019s high affinity for dishonorable deeds.<\/p>\n

Speaking during Raila Odinga\u2019s Azimio la Umoja tour of Ukambani, Ngilu admitted that she always switches off her TV whenever she sees Ruto speaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I see this person on Citizen TV, I ask myself now what is this? I switch off until he is out,\u201d stated Ngilu.<\/p>\n

In a bare-knuckle onslaught on the UDA\u2019s 2022 presidential hopeful, Ngilu faulted the DP on the misdeeds he has been engaged in since 2013, which she stated had slowed down President Kenyatta\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n

The former Cabinet Secretary noted that all the CS’s brought by the second-in-command during Jubilee\u2019s first stint were marred with graft allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the ministries that he took have gone down. He took agriculture and brought maize from Mexico,” she stated.<\/p>\n

According to Ngilu, other agencies whose failure is attributed to the DP include the Kenya Pipeline Company and the Kenya Power and Lighting Company.<\/p>\n

She further indicated that Ruto swindled billions from the Thwake Dam that is under construction in Kirinyaga County. Backing up her accusation, she claimed that the dam was to be constructed at Ksh13 billion but Ruto\u2019s lieutenants inflated the amount to Ksh39 billion.<\/p>\n

Ngilu, who worked as a CS in Jubilee’s first term and was fired on graft allegations, pleaded with the Kamba community not to elect Ruto as president in 2022, due to his poor track record.<\/p>\n

Further, she campaigned for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga, praising him for his patriotism and exemplary work when he served as Kenya\u2019s second prime minister.<\/p>\n

Raila Odinga took his campaigns to Makueni on Friday, November 12, where the three Ukambani governors, Charity Ngilu-Kitui, Alfred Mutua-Machakos and Kivutha Kibwana-Makueni, vowed to throw weight behind the former premier in the upcoming general elections.<\/p>\n

The Ukambani leaders presented a list of demands to Raila, which include the provision of clean water, to be fulfilled in the case he assumes office as president in 2022.<\/p>\n
