The Orange Democratic Movement has stepped in to resolve leadership wrangles at the Nyamira County Assembly even as a wave of fresh fights emerged.<\/p>\n
On Friday, the Orange party officials held a meeting with its nine MCAs to iron out fall-outs that have been witnessed among them over the last three months.<\/p>\n
Early this year, the MCAs, alongside other National Super Alliance (NASA) allied ward representatives voted to remove Duke Oyagi as majority leader and replaced him with Raban Masira of Nyamaiya Ward.<\/p>\n
Within less than a month after Masira was validated as the second majority leader, the MCAs convened another meeting that ejected him and replaced him with Bokeira Ward Rep Callen Atuya.It was after Masira’s ouster that Orange House refused to assent to the changes. Instead party officials summoned the MCAs to a day-long meeting to bring the wars to an end.<\/p>\n
That was after the party’s leadership, through the Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen (pictured<\/strong>), wrote to Speaker Moffat Teya, directing that the appointment of Atuya be set aside until the issues dogging the assembly are resolved.<\/p>\n At the Orange House, the mediation between the MCAs and the party saw Masira’s position upheld, and his predecessor Mr Oyagi given the post of the party’s chief whip.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Orange Democratic Movement has stepped in to resolve leadership wrangles at the Nyamira County Assembly even as a wave of fresh fights emerged.
