Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kitui governor Charity Ngilu on Thursday, November 18, narrated how the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga saved her after she beat up a District Officer from the County.<\/p>\n

She was speaking at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) during the Azimio la Wamama summit.<\/p>\n

Ngilu, while addressing the congregation, stated that she had gone to the offices with other people, requesting help from the D.O who instead beat her, and she decided to hit him back.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, let me tell you one thing before you sit down. Siku moja huko Kitui nilikua na shida sana na nikaenda kwa D.O mmoja akatupiga. (One day I had a big problem and I went to one D.O who beat us.)<\/p>\n

“Na nikampiga sana. Sasa, yule alinipigia simu kwanza ni your husband baba. (I really beat that D.O and the first person who called me was your husband)\u201d she said, addressing Raila\u2019s wife, Ida Odinga.<\/p>\n

Ngilu stated that after the D.O filed a report and she was presented to court, she lied that she only pushed the D.O to defend herself, but had no proof.<\/p>\n

\u201cRaila asked me Charity now what were you doing, but I lied to him that he was beating us and I was just pushing him away,\u201d<\/p>\n

Ngilu proceeded to say that she was taken to court, but Raila sent lawyers who included Paul Mwite and James Orengo, who defended her until she was released.<\/p>\n

She stated that she was citing the incident, just to prove to the women and all Kenyans that they are all safe in Raila\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am telling you that in Baba\u2019s hands, we are safe and you should not be worried at all when he becomes president,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

Notably, Ngilu dismissed deputy president William Ruto\u2019s bottom up economic model, stating that the youths deserve good jobs, not just any jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cKazi si Kazi. We are in this university, and parents are paying school fees by even selling their property to bring their children to school and then you decide to give those kids wheelbarrows?\u201d she posed.<\/p>\n

She challenged the DP, stating that it is unfair for him to speak about laptops, then 9 years later changes the tune to wheelbarrows.<\/p>\n

Ngilu rallied Kenyans to support the ODM chief saying she believes in Odinga’s social empowerment program of Ksh6,000 monthly to about 8 million families, and that he shall create better jobs for youths.<\/p>\n
