Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has revealed that he has a soft spot for football and wondered why people enjoy playing golf.<\/p>\n

Unlike most senior government officials who play golf, a game perceived to be for a certain class of people, Haji explained that he was an ordinary citizen who did not have an interaction with the sport growing up.<\/p>\n

During an interview on a local TV station on Wednesday, November 24, the public prosecutor went ahead to add that golf was a game that involved grownups running after a small ball, something he found amusing.<\/p>\n

“I don’t play golf because I am an ordinary person. Chasing a small ball as a grown-up? I would rather stay at home and play football there.<\/p>\n

“You know I learned in Nyahururu DEB primary, so I am just an ordinary person. So those things of golf I do not know. I usually watch it on TV and I wonder why grown-ups would follow such a small ball. Football has a bigger ball,” the DPP explained.<\/p>\n

In the interview, he also disclosed that he often plays football during his free time further affirming that swimming would be an option as compared to golf.<\/p>\n

“I would prefer playing football or swimming. Golf? Aiiiiiiii,” Haji expressed.<\/p>\n

Besides playing football, the DPP expressed that he also enjoys watching the English Premier League (EPL). However, he was hesitant to reveal his team of choice indicating that it was neither Arsenal nor Manchester United.<\/p>\n

“I do play football but I am not a die-hard fan either. My team is currently performing badly but we are praying,” he stated as he burst into laughter.<\/p>\n

Haji, who was talking about activities he engages in during his free time outside the busy and challenging hours at ODPP, disclosed that he is a family man and enjoys spending time with them.<\/p>\n

“I have a family so I am usually with my family. That is what I do. What else would I do?” he stated.<\/p>\n

The DPP Haji is the brother of Senator Abdulkadir Haji who took the reigns of leadership of Garissa County after the passing of their father, the late Yusuf Haji.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he maintained that he was a religious man and was ready to leave office in the event that he was found guilty of the accusations that have been levelled against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the President sets up a tribunal and the tribunal finds that I have to leave, I am a man of God and believe that God has better plans for me. If PSC feels that I have to go, I cannot be in this seat forever. I recognize that that\u2019s why I have a term and the term will end,\u201d Haji affirmed.<\/p>\n
