The politicians clashed on whether to follow the pattern by voting for all six candidates from one political party, or to break the cycle in exercising their freedom in choosing their governor, senator, women representative, member of parliament and Member of County Assembly positions.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju&#8217;s stepmother&#8217;s funeral in Gori on November 27, a section of leaders advocated for free will in the different elective posts even as they work towards a Raila presidency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are going to vote for Raila Amollo Odinga for president, but we should not follow the wave in the other positions,&#8221; David Oliech, MP for Ugenya stated.<\/p>\n<p>In a counter-response, Orange Democratic Party(ODM) affiliated leaders stated it would be a grave mistake voting for Odinga as president, but fail to vote for people who would offer him legislative support in government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you make a mistake to vote for Raila as President, and not give him the foot soldiers to work with, he will be impeached within one week, &#8221; Rarieda MP Otiende Omollo vehemently reiterated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Raila is the next president and we cannot make him a lame duck,&#8221; Kisumu Women Representative Rosa Buyu stated.<\/p>\n<p>Jubilee Secretary General Tuju however called for unity, shunning divisive politics that have previously caused devastation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Politics should not make us hate each other because tomorrow is also there, let us respect each other,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The six-piece voting strategy has previously assured candidates from the Nyanza region of clinching elective seats owing to the political dominance exerted by ODM.<\/p>\n<p>The division is mainly attributed to the emergence of new parties, as new political entrants are already challenging the political supremacy of the party in the region ahead of the 2022 polls.<\/p>\n<p>The forthcoming polls have proved to be an uphill task for household politica parties, due to the different ideologies arising from the new formation, like Deputy President William Ruto&#8217;s UDA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
