Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kakamega Senator, Cleophas Malalah on Saturday, November 28, told the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals to learn from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila on how to join government.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a rally in Cherangany, Trans Nzoia County, Malala told Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), not to fear losing the August 8, 2022 General Election.<\/p>\n

Malala told the OKA principals to emulate Raila, who, according to the senator, has managed to join governments without winning elections.<\/p>\n

” I want to tell you Honorable Musalia, do not fear losing elections. Raila taught us that one must not win elections to oin government,” Malala stated.<\/p>\n

The senator added that the former Premier has managed to be in three governments despite unsuccessfully contesting for presidency. This, save for 2002, when he did not contest.<\/p>\n

These include the 1997 government under former President, the late Daniel Moi, retired president Mwai Kibaki and the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta.<\/p>\n

“In 2013 and 2017, Raila lost the elections, has he joined Uhuru’s government or not?” he posed, “We will fail but this time, we will face it respectfully,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

Musalia, Wetangula and Kalonzo were touring Trans Nzoia while Kanu’s Gideon Moi campaigned for OKA in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.<\/p>\n

Malala told OKA chiefs not to fold into demands to support the handshake partner’s quest for presidency. This comes barely a week after he condemned ODM of undermining Mudavadi during their tour of the Western Region.<\/p>\n

The Kakamega gubernatorial hopeful claimed that Odinga made several calls to the ANC party leader at night, asking him to support his presidential bid.<\/p>\n

“Every night Raila calls Musalia asking him to support him. If Musalia has no influence, why are you calling him,” the senator remarked.<\/p>\n

The OKA principals have insisted that they remain united despite an alleged rift in the party. With Mudavadi giving the outfit an ultimatum to announce its preferred presidential candidate, whether or not the outfit will survive the 2022 polls is a matter of wait and see.<\/p>\n
