Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Zoo Kericho head coach Herman Iswekha has vowed to guide the team back to the Kenyan Premier League.<\/p>\n

The club was relegated to the National Super League after they were found guilty of match-fixing last season. However, Iswekha \u2014 speaking ahead of Saturday\u2019s clash against Shabana, said the team is now focusing on returning to the KPL.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe relegation, though unfair and political, is now behind us. We must go back to the Kenyan Premier League next season,\u201d said coach Iswekha.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know NSL is very competitive but my boys are up to the task. We cant wait to be back to the KPL, that is where we belong not NSL.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team will, however, miss the services of six key players due to injury. The six are captain Kepher Ondati, vice captain Geoffrey Gichana, Bernard Wanguche, Alex Onchwari, Derrick Anami and Castro Lisakha.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a huge blow since they are first-team players. However, I have confidence in the players who will replace them in the starting lineup,\u201d the tactician added.<\/p>\n

\u201cShabana is a very good team with experienced players but we are not afraid of them. We are travelling to Awendo for three points.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shabana coach Robert Ojienda welcomed the return of the league after a three-week break following the disbandment of the Football Kenya Federation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have prepared well in the last three weeks, including playing two friendly matches against Gor Mahia and Vihiga Bullets,\u201d said Ojienda.<\/p>\n

In the opening game, Shabana were held to a barren draw by newbies Mara Sugar while Kericho Zoo played to a 1-1 draw against Kisumu All Stars at Kericho Stadium.<\/p>\n

In other matches, Mully Children\u2019s Family will host Fortune Sacco at Thika Stadium as Silibwet welcome newly-promoted SS Assad at Bomet Stadium.<\/p>\n

At Camp Toyoyo grounds, Dandora Love face Murang’a Seal as Vihiga United battle Mara Sugar at Mumias Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, APS Bomet and Muhoroni Youth will collide at Bomet Stadium.<\/p>\n

Gusii FC will be up against Mwatate United at Awendo Green Stadium with Mombasa Elite and Coastal Heroes battling it out in a coast derby.<\/p>\n

Migori Youth will be at home to Kibera Black Stars at Migori Stadium.<\/p>\n
