Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has revealed reasons behind his exit from the Ford Kenya party.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a church service in Kanduyi in Bungoma County on Sunday, November 5, Wamalwa stated that he was allegedly forced out of the party because of Moses Wetangula’s dictatorship, claiming that his leadership skills were questionable.<\/p>\n

The CS alleged it was after the Bungoma senator took over from former Webuye Member of Parliament Musikari Kombo in 2013 that Ford Kenya party lost focus, driving its founders away.<\/p>\n

“Ford Kenya was a party of my late brother Wamalwa Kijana but I was forced to quit after Wetang\u2019ula snatched it from Kombo and become a dictator,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

This comes after a section of leaders from the Western region exited from the party, decrying poor leadership after the party’s National Delegates Conference on Thursday, November 4, in which Wetangula was endorsed as the party’s flag bearer.<\/p>\n

The leaders led by Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi and Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu unsuccessfully staged a coup to unseat Wetangula, leading them to bolt out of the party decrying the senator’s blatant disregard of the law.<\/p>\n

The Wamunyinyi faction speaking in a press conference on Thursday, December 2 stated that they resolved to form a rival political party which will be unveiled on Tuesday, December 14.<\/p>\n

“Let Wetangula continue with his antics, we will catch up with him sooner than later,\u201d Simiyu stated in the conference.<\/p>\n

Wetangula in retaliation hit out at Wamalwa, accusing him of having a hand in the exodus of the leaders, terming them as rebels who he is hawking around, having them believe that the party was their new refuge.<\/p>\n

He dared them for a political duel, challenging them to face him head-on in the 2022 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have run away, but they cannot run away from their primary constituencies. We will meet them there,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
