{"id":41079,"date":"2021-12-07T18:19:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T18:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=41079"},"modified":"2021-12-07T16:05:03","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T16:05:03","slug":"kenya-team-off-to-uganda-for-cana-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/kenya-team-off-to-uganda-for-cana-show","title":{"rendered":"Kenya team off to Uganda for CANA show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The Kenya swimming team will finally travel to Uganda for the Cana Zone III Championship starting on Thursday in Kampala.<\/p>\n<p>Nairobi County Swimming Association secretary, Kenneth Karani, said 30 swimmers will pay from their pockets after the government failed to fund the team due to wrangles and court cases within the sport<\/p>\n<p>The team departs today for the five-day championship. \u201cIt&#8217;s been a hectic five days raising money from the parents and I am glad we will finally leave on Tuesday for the event. The swimmers are excited that they will feature in the event after months of hard work, \u201d said Karani.<\/p>\n<p>Karani said it was disheartening that swimmers from poor backgrounds will miss out on the championship due to the wrangles in the sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s very sad to see the sport going down due to poor administration.
