{"id":41771,"date":"2021-12-16T16:21:03","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T16:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=41771"},"modified":"2021-12-16T14:38:18","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T14:38:18","slug":"matiangi-issues-directives-to-all-officers-ahead-of-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/matiangi-issues-directives-to-all-officers-ahead-of-christmas","title":{"rendered":"Matiang&#8217;i Issues Directives to All Officers Ahead of Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang&#8217;i on Wednesday, December 15, directed all security officers to continue working throughout the December Holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, police officers and members of the National Government Administration including Regional, County, Deputy County, Assistant County Commissioners, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs, will not be going for the Christmas break.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the Installation of Senior Principal Chief Roika ole Shira at Kekurro location, Kajiado County, Matiang&#8217;i disclosed that the directive was issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta in his capacity as the Chairman of the National Security Council (NSC).<\/p>\n<p>Those who are currently on leave were recalled back to duty.<\/p>\n<p>The security officers were asked to be vigilant during the festive season bearing in mind the political upheavals in neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, citizens were urged to exercise caution in their various surroundings and alert authorities in case of any insecurity incidences.<\/p>\n<p>Matiang&#8217;i urged chiefs and assistant chiefs to demonstrate loyalty to the government of the day and to unequivocally support its projects and policies.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the National Police has urged motorists to be vigilant during the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>The service observed that the rising number of fatalities from road accidents since the beginning of December 2021 was quite alarming.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Note that our officers will ever be present to offer any assistance as they ensure compliance with the rule of law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We thus appeal for maximum cooperation from the members of the public in reducing the number of road carnage,&#8221; reads the statement in part.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
