{"id":41867,"date":"2021-12-17T17:00:01","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T17:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/?p=41867"},"modified":"2021-12-17T14:49:11","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T14:49:11","slug":"nakuru-johnnie-walker-golf-series-attracts-over-100-playersin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/nakuru-johnnie-walker-golf-series-attracts-over-100-playersin","title":{"rendered":"Nakuru Johnnie Walker Golf Series attracts over 100 playersin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The fourth leg of the ongoing Johnnie Walker Golf Series heads to the Nakuru Golf Club on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>More than 100 golfers are expected to grace the event at the par 73 golf course, playing in the competition\u2019s four-ball Stableford format.<\/p>\n<p>The top three winning teams will book their slots in the competition\u2019s Eagles Round where they will aim to make the cut to play in the Series\u2019 Grand Finale to battle it out for the ultimate prize \u2013 a fully paid trip to the iconic Gleneagles Golf Course in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Nine teams have already qualified to play in the next round following the events held at VetLab, Thika Greens and Windsor golf clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya Breweries Limited\u2019s (KBL) Marketing Manager for Spirits, Josephine Katambo, said she was happy with the progress of the series so far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Road to Gleneagles is in full effect. It is a long series, with a lot of golf yet to be played in the New Year, so we are still just getting our feet wet. We are delighted to be heading to Nakuru this weekend where we expect some very entertaining golf action, similar or even better than we what we have had in the previous rounds,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Road to Gleneagles\u2019 Johnnie Walker Golf Series is the latest move by KBL to leverage sport to create more avenues for positive interaction with customers of their brands.<\/p>\n<p>Johnnie Walker is a long-time supporter of Kenyan golf, with this latest circuit giving an opportunity for local golfers to compete with a view of increasing the standard of the overall local game.<\/p>\n<p>The Nakuru Golf Club leg will be the final event in the series\u2019 calendar in 2021 before it goes on recess for the festive season.
