Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenyan media is taking strides in its bid to attract audiences both locally and internationally, and in its efforts, different stations launched various platforms to widen the scope of their reach to their consumers.<\/p>\n

In line with this, top media houses in the country embarked on developmental projects within their institutions, owing to the competitive nature of Kenyan media.<\/p>\n

Transformation to digital media and the increased audience demand for news also necessitated the media houses to change tack.<\/p>\n

Royal Media Services<\/p>\n

In its bid to expand its digital footprint, Royal Media services launched its digital platform, where audiences can access the media house’s content on one digital platform.<\/p>\n

The platform covers all matters news, entertainment and sports which has been well received by their audiences following the consolidation of news platforms.<\/p>\n

The organization also launched Ramogi TV, a Dholuo vernacular television station, in an endeavour to absorb its audiences who listen to their Ramogi FM radio station in the Nyanza region.<\/p>\n

Radio Africa Group<\/p>\n

Radio Africa, in November 2021, launched its digital platform dubbed Mgazeti, after the media house partnered with publishers to curate digital content for the platform.<\/p>\n

This move aimed at curbing late publishing of content for digital curators owing to the pandemic which affected revenue generated from newspaper sales.<\/p>\n

Digitized content propelled the launch of the platform which sought to attract audiences that demand news in real-time.<\/p>\n

Standard Group<\/p>\n

The Standard Media Group launched a converged Digital Newsroom to disseminate news from one consolidated platform rather than its radio, television stations and correspondents independently.<\/p>\n

The media house also relaunched their KTN News channel, branding it with the phrase \u201cFacts First\u201d with a new outlook on improving their verification methods in a bid to compete with other media houses.<\/p>\n

KTN News adopted a new red outlook and shed its traditional blue.<\/p>\n

KDF Media House<\/p>\n

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 launched a state-of-the-art TV and radio studio at their headquarters in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the disciplined forces announced that their newly constructed studio would enable them to communicate effectively with members of the public.<\/p>\n

The studios will also bridge the relationship gap between Kenyans and the forces by building and repairing trust with the citizens.<\/p>\n

Community Media Houses<\/p>\n

Trinity FM Radio and TV Station<\/p>\n

The Station became the first to set base in Nyandarua County after its launch on October 25.<\/p>\n

Ezra Chiloba, the Director General Of Communications Authority of Kenya, graced the occasion.<\/p>\n

The CA director stated that the authority was working towards ensuring community stations increase revenues generated from advertisements.<\/p>\n

Enchipai TV<\/p>\n

Kameme FM presenter and comedian, Benson Gathungu, launched his own media house on Monday, November 1.<\/p>\n

Gathungu, also known as Muthee Kiengei Wa Watori, unveiled Enchipai TV, a vernacular Maasai television station.<\/p>\n
