Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Missing security expert Mwenda Mbijiwe\u2019s brother, Nicholas Bundi, has undertaken a tough task to raise awareness and pressure the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to provide answers on his missing kin.<\/p>\n

Bundi met journalists on Monday, January 3, at Chogoria, Tharaka Nithi County, and revealed that he will be traveling on foot to the DCI headquarters in Nairobi to seek an audience with the DCI boss, George Kinoti.<\/p>\n

He stated that the family was in distress since Mbijiwe went missing in June 2021 and although the DCI had launched investigations, they were yet to give the family any details on the probe.<\/p>\n

Bundi added that the family was in support of his campaign and he would be telling of his family’s pain to the members of the public that he meets on his way to the DCI.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have decided to walk to DCI headquarters in Nairobi as a way of expressing our family\u2019s desperation on the ongoing investigations and I hope to meet DCI boss George Kinoti,\u201d Bundi stated.<\/p>\n

Mbijiwe’s brother stated the family had been to various government offices asking for help without success.<\/p>\n

The family also told the press they believe the government is withholding information from them.<\/p>\n

Bundi told journalists that they want Mbijiwe’s body if in fact, he is dead but if he is alive, they are asking the government to produce him in court.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are asking the government to produce the body of our brother if he was murdered or take him to court if he is a criminal,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He was carrying a placard which indicated when Mbijiwe went missing and also asking his brother’s captors to give him back.<\/p>\n

Mbijiwe\u2019s mother, Jane Gatwiri, spoke to Kenyans.co.ke on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, and expressed her disappointment over the state’s failure to offer information on the whereabouts of her son.<\/p>\n

She stated that Mwenda was not a stranger to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, yet their government has done very little to find him.<\/p>\n

Gatwiri also faulted the manner in which the investigations were being conducted. She indicated that her son’s car and belongings that were found on a farm in Kiambu county were handed over even without a statement from the police.<\/p>\n
