Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Ford Kenya Party leader, Moses Wetangula, on Thursday, January 6, compared and contrasted Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, strategies ahead of the August 9 polls.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an interview, Wetangula claimed that DP Ruto was more intentional in his approach to drum up support for his presidential bid.<\/p>\n

He noted that unlike the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Ruto recognizes who the Western Region kingpins are.<\/p>\n

“Of course he recognizes, and rightly so, that the gate-keepers of the Mulembe nation is myself and Musalia Mudavadi,” Wetangula remarked.<\/p>\n

Wetangula further faulted Odinga for opting to work with the Central Organization Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli. He noted that Ruto would not waste any opportunity to bring in leaders who will guarantee him votes.<\/p>\n

“The numbers are big. The people who carry the aspirations, the hope and trust of the Mulembe nation are known.<\/p>\n

“Any politician who is sufficiently shrewd and understands the politics of this country will not engage in the shenanigans that we saw on December 31 at Bukhungu Stadium,” the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principal noted.<\/p>\n

The Bungoma Senator lauded Ruto for always engaging voters during his rallies, asking them on the individuals they would prefer to work with him.<\/p>\n

“I have heard him asking the people, do you wish your leaders to work with me? And of course the crowd has resoundingly told him they would want to see that,” he remarked.<\/p>\n

While he was adamant that Ruto had not made contact with him, he noted that he would be open to have discussions with him and any other leader who has the people’s interest at heart.<\/p>\n

On January 5, 2022, Wetangula and his fellow OKA principals, Gideon Moi (Kanu), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), affirmed that they were united despite claims of disunity in the camp.<\/p>\n
