There is no Covid-19 case in the county,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>County health Chief officer Dr David Ekuawam elaborated that the patient had been suffering from upper respiratory tract infection.\u00a0&#8220;He is responding well to treatment for,&#8221; he said.\u00a0However, the county has banned the number of people visiting patients at Kericho County Hospital to avoid congestion at the facility to curb spread of coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>The county has also banned hawking of foodstuff and open air cooking.To demonstrate preparedness to tackle the virus, Governor Chepkwony&#8217;s administration has\u00a0approved the release of emergency funds to the departments of health, water, energy, environment, forestry and natural resources and public service management.<\/p>\n<p>A toll free telephone line 08000720464 has been\u00a0established to ease the reporting of suspected cases of the virus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AfricaPress-Kenya: A 47-year-old man put in isolation at the Londiani sub-county hospital on suspicion of having been infected with Covid-19 has tested negative for the virus.
