Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed creators on social media posting funny videos and photos on what looks like a similar crying filter.<\/p>\n

They are not actual tears, it is just an augmented reality technology that was created on Snapchat and people on Instagram and TikTok to make everyone look like they are at their emotional breaking point.<\/p>\n

The filter gives you a frowny, sad face with upturned eyebrows and bloodshot eyes.<\/p>\n

The filter is being used to prank friends and to completely transform recognizable clips from celebrities, movies or even reality shows worldwide.<\/p>\n

The person behind the camera proceeds to ask them something along the lines of, “What’s wrong?” \u201cYou look so sad\u201d and the victim, mostly unaware of the prank is wildly confused.<\/p>\n

Here is how to find the crying lens in Snapchat<\/b><\/p>\n

Step 1: Proceed to download the snapchat application<\/p>\n

Step 2: Open the application and then proceed to click the smile emoji icon next to the camera shutter on the screen.<\/p>\n

Step 3: At the bottom part, click the magnifying glass icon called Explore.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Click on the search box and type #crying and choose the filter by Snapchat.<\/p>\n

Step 5: You can also find it under \u201cTrending Lenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once you record from Snapchat, save and then proceed to either Instagram or TikTok to post.<\/p>\n
