For the first time in 30 days, since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country, tables have been turned. More people are leaving the quarantine facilities and the number of confirmed cases has dropped for two consecutive days.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday an additional 10 people will be discharged from Mbagathi isolation facility. This is good news indeed. It is a Good Friday. For the first time in a day we release more people than we took in,\u201d said Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.<\/p>\n
The country now has a total of 22 recoveries. This good news now gives Kenyans a chance to gasp for air as the fight against the coronavirus pandemic continues.”We have always found inspiration in ourselves and each other to find the sunshine after the storm. We must come together by staying apart and breaking the chain of infection,” he added.<\/p>\n
The CS also remained hopeful that the war against Covid-19 will be won as he asked Kenyans to continue praying for the country and observing guidelines by the Ministry of Health in order to get through these difficult times.<\/p>\n
“The true meaning of Easter is victory over death. Let’s rededicate ourselves to the fight of our times.”Prior to this update, President Uhuru Kenyatta in his address to the nation on the Easter celebration expressed optimism that the coronavirus crisis would be over if Kenyans obeyed the guidelines by the government.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we are in a storm. We have refused to give up and we will see the end of the Covid-19 pandemic in Kenya. Though these actions are personal, by doing them together we can all do our part in defeating this disease,\u201d noted President Uhuru.<\/p>\n
\u201cKenyans have been tested many times before and we have always done what is necessary to pull through all difficulty and adversity. We have always found inspiration in ourselves and each other to find the sunshine after the storm,” he added.<\/p>\n
Although five more cases have been reported taking the national Covid-19 tally to 189, the recoveries have given Kenyans something to smile about.\u00a0\u201cIn the last 24 hours, we have tested 504 individuals and out of the number, five have tested positive for Covid-19,\u201d said the health CSGlobally, over 366,000 people have recovered from the virus as cases pass the 1.6 million mark.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
