An online retailer is on the spot over failed delivery of goods after advance payment by customers.The goods as advertised by Appliances Kenya were to be delivered within seven days after payment in a campaign dubbed Black Friday.The campaign ran in the better part of November and most of the customers were expected to get their goods by early December.<\/p>\n

However, almost two months since most customers had paid, they are yet to receive their goods.A statement by the retailer posted on its Facebook page on December 11, 2019 claimed that the goods were stolen.\u201cThe current back log in deliveries has been occasioned by internal security lapse that saw an assortment of goods stolen, the same is under investigation and has been reported at Kabete Police Station under O.B 94\/04\/12\/19,\u201d read the statement in part.<\/p>\n

The management said their offices at Mountain View remain closed temporarily pending completion of investigations.\u201cWe shall update you once the same is completed,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

One of the buyers, Grace Muthoni, ordered goods worth Sh64,975 from the online shop between November2, 2019 and November 20, 2019.She ordered a fridge, a water dispenser, 2 home theatres, a cooker, microwave and a TV stand.\u201cI have never received any of the items,\u201d said Muthoni.Another buyer, Fredrick Mugo, ordered a television worth Sh9,995 on November 13, 2019 and is yet to receive it.<\/p>\n

He reported the matter at Kabete police station.Appliances Kenya has been in operation for the last three years, the management said they were making every effort to resume normal operations and gave a phone number for customers with pending orders to direct their queries regarding refunds or alternative delivery of goods.<\/p>\n
