AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> E-Plus has vowed to take action against its officials who used an ambulance to ferry some youth who had gone for a party.<\/p>\n

The agency, which deals with urgent calls on medical emergencies, said that the staff members involved have already been punished in accordance with the policies.<\/p>\n

It, however, did not specify the kinds of punishment taken against the staff who sanctioned the move.<\/p>\n

A statement from the agency\u2019s Managing Director Susan Ng\u2019\u2019ong\u2019a notes: \u201cWe have taken disciplinary measures against our staff who have been implicated in the incident. We further encourage law enforcement authorities to further apply the full extent of the law and hold those culpable accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will collaborate with the authorities to deliver this as a matter of urgency.\u201dThe agency said that those who were carried by ambulance did not warrant to be moved by the vehicle because it is only meant for medical purposes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe individuals carried in the ambulance were not in need of any pre-hospital services. This was a violation of our standards and protocols for service and the laws of Kenya,\u201d stated Ng\u2019ong\u2019a.<\/p>\n

E-Plus has promised a revision of the policies that will safeguard the use of the ambulances in the future, so as to ensure that the vehicles are only used for emergency medical purposes.<\/p>\n

This comes after some Kenyans condemned the misuse of the ambulance of Twitter after a video of youth emerged drinking and yelling inside the ambulance.<\/p>\n
