Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President-elect William Ruto on Thursday held talks with a congressional delegation from the United States at his Karen office.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Delaware Senator Chris Andrew Coons, who was accompanied by US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and other officials.<\/p>\n

They discussed various issues including the recently concluded elections and areas of cooperation between Kenya and the United States.<\/p>\n

Ruto said his administration will work to affirm the bilateral ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n

“We commit to deepen relations and further partnership for the mutual benefit of the citizens of the two countries,” he said.<\/p>\n

The delegation also discussed ways to promote peace and security in the region and strengthen economies.<\/p>\n

Senator Coons and Whitman are expected to meet outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio leader Raila Odinga.<\/p>\n

The delegation is also scheduled to meet with organizations working to empower the girlchild, conservationists, and health providers.<\/p>\n
