Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The UDA party has picked outgoing Ewuaso MCA Justus Ngossor as its nominee for Kajiado assembly speaker.<\/p>\n

All the 13 MCAs-elect in UDA are backing Ngossor for the seat after a marathon of meetings between the county party leader, Katoo ole Metito, and MPs-elect.<\/p>\n

Ngossor\u2019s name emerged on Friday after the ODM side on Thursday claimed it had floated two names; Kipampi Ntele and Koin Lompo.<\/p>\n

Ntele is currently the deputy clerk at the county assembly, while Lompo is a practicing lawyer in Kajiado.<\/p>\n

Governor-elect Joseph Lenku is drumming up support for Lompo, while the Kaputiei community is backing Ntele.<\/p>\n

Both Ntele and Lompo are residents of Kajiado East constituency, but the latter comes from Lenku\u2019s Orokiteng\u2019 clan.<\/p>\n

The people of Kaputiei claim they voted for Lenku \u201coverwhelmingly\u201d in the just-concluded election and therefore deserve the seat for one of their own.<\/p>\n

Ngossor however said UDA is set to win the speaker\u2019s seat owing to its numbers after the party won 13 positions against ODM’s eight, Wiper’s two and Jubilee’s two.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter nominations, UDA will have either nine or 10 nominated MCAs, while ODM will get four nominees as Wiper and Jubilee will each get one seat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

MCAs affiliated to the UDA party include Paul Metui (Entonet\/Lenkisim), James Nina (Kimana), Timothy Saigilu (Eselenkei\/Mbirikani) and Titus Matheka (Ongata Rongai).<\/p>\n

Others are Ndindiri Mwaura (Ngong), Stephen Gatho (Olkeri), Maina Mutiga (Nkaimurunya), and John Loisa (Dalalekutuk).<\/p>\n

Also, Jonathan Koroine (Mosiro), Joshua Saigilu (Iloodokilani), Daniel Kukan (Imaroro), Marush Kisemei (Oloosirkon) and Jackson Angaine (Rombo).<\/p>\n

Those affiliated to the ODM party include Lewantai Lemomo, (Kuku) Eli Gor (Oloolua), David Mutunkei (Matapato South) and Joseph Torris (Ewuaso).<\/p>\n

Others are Joseph Kiresian (Magadi), Paul Matuyia (Kitengela), Nicholas Moloma (Kenyewa\/Poka) and Joshua Olowuasa (Kaputiei).<\/p>\n

Wiper affiliates are Simon Saitoti (Purko), and Abraham Osoi (Matapato North), while those from the Jubilee party include Joseph Mutunkei (Ildamat), Amos Sholoi and (Keek-Onyokie).<\/p>\n

After nomination, UDA will have at least 22 MCAs against Azimio\u2019s 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have our numbers intact, they cannot buy our MCAs because we are determined to take the leadership of the county assembly,\u201d Ngossor said.<\/p>\n

UDA also won parliamentary seats in Kajiado West (George Sunkuyia) and North (Onesmus Ngogoyo), while ODM won in Central (Elijah Memusi), South (Sakimpa Parashina) and East (Kakuta Maimai).<\/p>\n
