Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Residents of Homa Bay have been warned against falling victims of irregular recruitment.<\/p>\n

Homabay Governor-elect Gladys Wanga on Tuesday raised alarm over the recruitment, advising residents be wary of dubious employment deals with the county government and or its entities during the transition period.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we prepare for assumption of office later this week, our attention has been drawn to suspicious acts involving claims of irregular recruitment of staff to the county government of Homa Bay,\u201d she said<\/p>\n

Wanga reiterated that the county\u2019s transition process is in progress and there should be no recruitment of staff until the new administration takes charge.<\/p>\n

She called on all county government staff and those of the county public service board to refrain from acts that may undermine integrity of the county government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWould like to advise the public to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to corruption cartels and unscrupulous deals asking for kickbacks in exchange for non-existing jobs in the county government,\u201d Wanga stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny irregular recruitment letters being offered to members of the public at this time, whether backdated or current will be considered irregular and officers masterminding these unlawful acts will be compelled to take responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

This comes just a few days to Wanga’s swearing-in as Homa Bay\u2019s second, and first female governor on Thursday.<\/p>\n

She won the governor race with on ODM ticket by garnering 244,559 votes, against independent candidate Evans Kidero who attained 154,184 votes.<\/p>\n

Wanga will be among 45 governors-elect set to be sworn-in on Thursday.<\/p>\n
