Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Nairobi City Stars’ teenage attacking midfielder Timothy Noor Ouma has joined the Swedish top-tier side, IF Elsborg.<\/p>\n

The club’s chief executive officer, Patrick Korir, said they have reached an agreement for the immediate transfer of the midfield prodigy.<\/p>\n

\u201cCity Stars can confirm that after successful negotiations, Ouma\u2019s move from Simba Wa Nairobi to Swedish top-tier side, IF Elsborg has been sealed,\u201d said Korir in a statement.<\/p>\n

Popularly known as Babu, he leaves Simba Wa Nairobi two seasons into his five-year deal. He joined City Stars from Laiser Hill School.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has our full blessings, and on behalf of Nairobi City Stars and supporters, we wish him the very best in his new endeavour at IF Elfsborg,\u201d added Korir.<\/p>\n

Babu left the country on Monday morning and arrived at his new club the following day. He has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at IF Elfbrog.<\/p>\n

He joined Nairobi City Stars in mid-2020 on an initial three-year contract but after his debut top-flight season, he extended his stay for a further two seasons until mid-2025.<\/p>\n

In the ended 2021\/22 FKF Premier League season, Babu scored seven goals in addition to nine assists and as many second assists to end the season with a contribution of 25 out of the total 45 goals scored.<\/p>\n

Babu joins IF Elfsborg’s squad directly and will play in shirt number 16. Most recently in league games with Nairobi City Stars, he has alternated between playing central offense or a winger. \u201cI am good at holding, controlling, and distributing the ball,\u201d said Ouma.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s coach said: \u201cOuma is a player who fits the profile we are looking for well. He is powerful, fast, has a good character, and already has experience at a young age in both A-team football and national team merits through two games for Kenya in their World Cup qualifiers.\u201d<\/p>\n
