Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio presidential running mate Martha Karua has attended the inauguration of Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was held at Homa Bay Stadium on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Other 45 governors are also set to take an oath of office on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Wanga was decleared winner after garnering 244,559 votes flooring her close competitor Evans Kidero, who came in second with 154,182 votes.<\/p>\n

She will be the first female governor of Homa Bay as she succeeds Cyprian Awiti<\/p>\n

Wanga has served the county as the Woman Representative for one term, having been elected in 2017.<\/p>\n

The governor contested on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.<\/p>\n
