Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former Devolution CAS Gideon Mung\u2019aro has been sworn in as Kilifi governor.<\/p>\n

He was sworn in alongside his Deputy Governor Flora Chibule at Karisa Maitha Grounds.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Justice George Dulu and Justus Kituku.<\/p>\n

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Jubilee vice chairperson David Murathe attended the function but did not speak.<\/p>\n

Mung\u2019aro listed 10 points that he said would form his agenda for his five-year term.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have however prioritised four things. These issues were not campaign promises but issues that I pledge to fulfil,\u201d he said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The four include education, health, roads and water.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe outgoing government laid the foundation and we will take over from where they left,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mung’aro said he would form the governor\u2019s advisory council which will serve as an advisory committee for his development roadmap.<\/p>\n

Outgoing governor Amason Kingi handed over all the instruments of power to Mung\u2019aro and promised to offer advice should he need it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a son of this county and I am ready to offer help for this county to succeed. I did my best and it is time for you to propel the county ahead,\u201d Kingi said.<\/p>\n
