Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The ugly spat between Roots party boss George Wajackoya and his running mate Justina Wamae turned worse on Friday after a planned meeting degenerated into a standoff.<\/p>\n

The meeting was to be a disciplinary proceeding against Wamae whose relationship with Wajackoyah has grown sour since the August 9 general elections.<\/p>\n

Wajackoyah told the Star the party had invited Wamae to show cause why she should not be expelled from the outfit, after allegedly speaking out of turn with its leadership in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

He said Wamae was not supposed to be accompanied by anybody and armed police officers at Cara House Karen offices were instructed to bar any extra person.<\/p>\n

Cara House is the premises of Wajackoyah\u2019s law offices. But the Star understands that the premises serve as the Roots Party offices.<\/p>\n

A few minutes past 2 pm, Wamae arrived at the establishment accompanied by her armed guards and several supporters.<\/p>\n

She demanded to be let into the premises with at least six supporters and in the presence of media cameras in the room.<\/p>\n

However, a standoff ensued.<\/p>\n

Addressing the press, Wamae said she was not aware of the agenda of the disciplinary gathering.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have shown up as a law-abiding citizen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHave been called to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee. I’m yet to know my offences. I have just responded.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wamae said she first checked with the Karen police station to report that she was attending the said meeting just in case anything adverse happened to her, legal action will be taken.<\/p>\n

The duo have been engaged in nasty exchanges on social media, trading accusations on who was to blame for the party\u2019s poor showing in the concluded polls.<\/p>\n

While Wajacjakoyah has claimed that Wamae had grown sympathetic to Deputy President William Ruto\u2019s Kenya Kwanza, the latter has alleged that the former was an Azimio mole.<\/p>\n

Wajackoyah had even claimed that it was his effort that pushed their campaigns and that he had allegedly given accommodation to his running mate.<\/p>\n

However, Wamae said it was the Azimio coalition that had sponsored their lavish manifesto launch at KICC.<\/p>\n

By the time of the press, the standoff persisted, with reinforced armed police guards blocking the entrance to the offices.<\/p>\n

Wajackoyah was still inside.<\/p>\n
