Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A police officer has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an OCS office at the station where he is attached and stealing Sh71, 000 cash bail.<\/p>\n

Police constable Paul Chege Lore was locked up at Masii police station in Mwala sub-county, Machakos county, on Friday.<\/p>\n

The incident was reported at the same station as the arrest of a police officer\/ officer breaking and stealing.<\/p>\n

\u201cPC Paul Chege Lore of Masii police station has been arrested, placed in custody to answer charges of office breaking and committing a felony contrary to Section 306 (a) of the penal code,\u201d the report seen by the Star read in part.<\/p>\n

The suspect, according to the report, while on duty at the report office at around 0700 hrs broke and entered the OCS office at Masii police station.<\/p>\n

He broke and entered the OCS table drawers and accessed a cash bail book containing Sh71, 000.<\/p>\n

He was also found in possession of two spent cartridges and a teargas canister.<\/p>\n

\u201cA search at his house, two 7.62 * 51mm blanks and a teargas canister were recovered. He will appear before Machakos Chief Magistrates Court on August 29, 2022,\u201d the report read in part.<\/p>\n

Police have launched investigations into the incident.<\/p>\n
