Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Local entrepreneurs in agricultural and manufacturing sectors will share experiences with peers from over 15 foreign countries that will be exhibiting at the AgroFoodpack Expo in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

The three day expo has been organised by the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and industry(KNCCI) in conjunction with the Dubai-based MXM Exhibitors.<\/p>\n

The session will commence on September 2 at the Sarit Centre.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the programme, KNCCI chairman Julius Opio said that the initiative will also aim at tapping the technological prowess in the Agricultural sector while promoting the inter-country trade.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have increasingly called for the reduction of prices of farm inputs and increased investments in agricultural technology as a step towards encouraging increased mechanization of farming in rural Kenya,\u201dOpio said.<\/p>\n

He further notes that the chamber has embarked on encouraging foreign direct investments through the Agro Food Park model to bolster the agro-processing and related value addition business ventures.<\/p>\n

The Agro Food Park model will bring together farmers, input suppliers, processors, retailers, wholesalers, exporters and other business service providers and link agricultural production to the market.<\/p>\n

The trade-fair will also provide a platform for technology transfer, and enhance the opening of the gateway between Kenya and other 16 countries from Europe and Asian nations.<\/p>\n

MXM Exhibitors organizer Mudasir Mohammed said the initiative will aim to tap into the government\u2019s Big Four Agenda with the boost in foreign direct investments and also by providing trade and technological exchange opportunities between Kenya and the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgricultural and Manufacturing are part of the Big Four Agenda, therefore, we must connect local firms to new technology to drive growth within these two sectors and by doing so, we shall be spurring their growth hence they can double their production capacity and create better jobs for Kenyans,\u201d Mohammed said.<\/p>\n

There will also be a side-event boarding power and energy segment at the expo incorporating some of the major participants such as Aytav Poultry, Vitalac, Cbl group, Altinbilek, Milltech, Meyer Corp, Sama Engineering, Fast cables, PEL and Windsor Machines.<\/p>\n

An estimate of 1500 exhibitors from over six countries will participate in the event.<\/p>\n
