We have players from across Eastern Africa and competition is on another level,&#8221; the immediate former Tiger Queens coach hinted.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The current impasse between the government and Fifa doesn&#8217;t bode well for the Kenyan Premier League either. This has made most of the players consider their futures with the lure of playing international club football central in their decision making.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said players&#8217; salary in women&#8217;s football is unheard of while lack of sponsorship is Kenya&#8217;s Achilles heel, contrary to their Tanzanian counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Tanzania women&#8217;s League is awash with Kenyan players despite having been in existence for only six years having been launched in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 high-profile Kenyan women players ply their trade in various clubs in the East African country situated just south of the Equator.<\/p>\n<p>This, Alumira said has been occasioned to a larger extent by the indefinite suspension imposed on Kenya by the world football governing body, Fifa in February.<\/p>\n<p>Former Vihiga Queens hot-shot Topista Situma, lanky midfielder Corazon Acquino and Carol Rufa were snapped up by defending league champions Simba Queens.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya U-20 captain Peris Oside, Marolyn Awuor, Monica Odato, Nelly Kache, Esther Amakobe and Cynthia Shilwatso are attached to Fountain Gates Academy while the quartet of Samantha Okeya, Phosca Nashivanda, Wincate Kari and Pauline Kathuruh don the Yanga Princes colours. Anita Adongo and Linda Achieng (Alliance FC) complete the long list.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Financially, Tanzania is better. Players earn handsome money that make their lives better. Serengeti, a breweries company and Runny Sanitary Pads company are some of the big-time sponsors. Transparency and accountability are highly demanded\u2014an aspect that attracts partners.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alumira managed three consecutive Premier League titles with Vihiga (2017-2019).
