Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President Uhuru Kenyatta has told the Kenya Defend Forces to support the incoming administration as much as they did to him.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Friday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Uhuru asked them to remain steadfast in the incoming administration<\/p>\n

\u201cI salute every one of you for your dedication to duty. I ask you to remain steadfast in the incoming administration just like you have supported my administration and that of my predecessors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will miss you but we are still together.\u201d<\/p>\n

While giving his farewell speech, Uhuru expressed his gratitude to them for supporting him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the participation that KDF has rendered not just in the security sector but also in our national development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Uhuru also requested the KDF soldiers and those present at the event to observe a moment of silence in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The president said incompetent leaders and mismanagement have pushed him to enlist military leadership in the agencies.<\/p>\n

Uhuru on several occasions confessed his love affair with the military and urged Kenyans to emulate their discipline and integrity.<\/p>\n

Last year, he said the military men and women had the requisite discipline which should be emulated by all.<\/p>\n

Uhuru mentioned the restoration of the glory of Nairobi using the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, Kenya Meat Commission and Kenya Shipyards Limited as some institutions that have been transformed by the KDF.<\/p>\n

He also outlined how KDF’s involvement in key infrastructure projects such as the rehabilitation of the Nairobi-Nanyuki and Nakuru-Kisumu railways have made an impact on Kenyans.<\/p>\n

Uhuru said the National Defense University Kenya will spearhead strategic scholarly discourse in security while safeguarding Kenya\u2019s interest in the national arena.<\/p>\n

\u201cA peaceful and stable Kenya is founded on our unity and patriotism,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Uhuru thanked all Kenyans for according him support during his 10-year tenure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sincerely thank Kenyans for the extraordinary support which made significant contributions towards the prosperity of our nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
