Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Namwela Boys volleyball head coach Isaac Muresia is optimistic they will perform well despite being handed a tough pool on their East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association games’ debut in Arusha, Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Muresia said his team is used to facing tough draws on the way to the Feasssa games and have always prevailed.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Nakuru on Wednesday as they made the last-minute preps before the trip\u2014 across the border, Muresia said: \u201cWe have always been handed tough pools since we started at the county level and this will not be an exemption.”<\/p>\n

Namwela, who finished second at the KSSSA national championships on Monday, will face champions Standard High School from Uganda, Nyarugunga (Rwanda) and Bombamzinga (Tanzania).<\/p>\n

\u201cLanding in tough pools inspires my players and if we happen to go past this hurdle, we are almost certain of reaching the final,” said Muresia.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the Bungoma county-based team lost to Cheptil Boys (Nandi County) in a five-setter; 23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21 and 15-10.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, national football champions Ebwali will face multiple winners St Mary\u2019s Kitende of Uganda, Tanzania\u2019s Katoro and Budo in Pool ‘B’ while runners-up Highway Secondary headline Pool ‘A’ alongside hosts Kiwira Coal Mines, Gasiza from Rwanda, St Andrew\u2019s Kaggwa and Kibuli.<\/p>\n

Girls champions Wiyeta take on Uganda\u2019s St Noa, Amus College School and Tanzanian side Isevya while Dagoretti Mixed will be up against champions Kawempe Muslim and Mukarange, Sacred Heart from Uganda as well as Alliance of Tanzania.<\/p>\n
