Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has told a section of Luo Nyanza MPs to stop fighting Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.<\/p>\n

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Babu said Junet cannot succeed ODM leader Raila Odinga as the next Luo kingpin.<\/p>\n

“My Luo MPs, Junet Mohamed can\u2019t succeed Baba as the next Luo leader. Please stop fighting him,” he said.<\/p>\n

Babu pointed out that Junet was only chosen to help Raila with the campaigns.<\/p>\n

“He only works for Baba and he did a fantastic job. We traversed villages in this Republic with him looking for Votes. Let\u2019s focus ahead and leave petty and parochial issues,” he said.<\/p>\n

His remarks come after blames were heaped on Junet following Raila’s loss in the August 9, general election.<\/p>\n

Raila lost to President William Ruto who garnered 7.1 million votes against the ODM leader’s 6.9 million votes.<\/p>\n

Junet, who is the Azimio secretary general, faced accusations of mismanaging and embezzling campaign and agents’ money.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Raila came to Junet’s defence saying the leader was too busy helping him with the campaigns and he did not engage in money issues.<\/p>\n

“Let me state without equivocation that Junet was a campaign lead in the team to support Raila. He at no time even once handled funds meant for agents nor did he have anything to do with the management of funds,” he said in a statement.<\/p>\n
