Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has said that Kenya needs to be prayerful.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Thursday, Mutua dismissed Evangelist Reuben Kigame’s sentiments on President William Ruto’s stand on religion.<\/p>\n

“Reuben Kigame is wrong. If he thinks the Ruto administration is overdoing religion, then the previous administration was overdoing the opposite. This country needs God,” Mutua tweeted.<\/p>\n

“We had sunk so low and thrown morality to the dogs. We cannot have too much of God, provided we also work hard!”<\/p>\n

Kigame had said that Ruto’s administration was “overdoing religion.”<\/p>\n

“I know I will be bashed but I need to be truthful and accountable to the nation. I think the Ruto administration is overdoing religion,” Kigame said.<\/p>\n

President Ruto attributed his win in the August 9 general election as one that took the hand of God, saying what appears impossible to man is possible before God.<\/p>\n

Moments before his inauguration at Kasarani stadium, religious songs were played to entertain guests.<\/p>\n

But Kigame said the “over-representation” of the evangelical wing of the church during his inauguration and that of his deputy Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday was unnecessary.<\/p>\n

“I do not know what the transition committee intended to prove to Kenya and the watching world,” Kigame said.<\/p>\n

“I am a committed Christian who believes in prayer and believe God has helped us this far and will continue to trust Him for the future of Kenya. But I hope that issues such as lowering food prices will not be met with State House saying, “let\u2019s pray about it,” Kigame added.<\/p>\n
