Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Ramesh Halai will be seeking to extend his advantage in the sixth round of the Kenya national 4x 4 championships at Oloosirkon Motorsports Park in Kajiado this weekend.<\/p>\n

Halai has 210 points in the Expert class division, 20 ahead of Gurashuish Singh while Bartoz Mohammed has 120 points after five rounds. Pitman Rospra is fourth with 50 points.<\/p>\n

In the intermediate division, Prabjot Saimbi has 160 points, Nikhil Helai is second with 126 while Thomas Annum has 110 points for third.<\/p>\n

In the beginners’ category, Wilson Gitau leads with 220 points followed by Ben Waiyaki (160) and Dhnarai Matharu (100).<\/p>\n

The entry fee for Super Expert category is Sh8500, Expert drivers will fork out Sh8,000, Intermediate fee is pegged at Sh6,000 while beginners will pay Sh4,000.<\/p>\n

Event organiser George Njoroge said he expects a big turnout of drivers owing to the rising popularity of the event.<\/p>\n

“We have had six legs of the championship and the interest continues to grow and this weekend we expect to see more drivers coming,\u201d added Njoroge.<\/p>\n

He expects a competitive end to the championship with two rounds remaining.<\/p>\n

However, Njoroge warned that with the intermittent rain falling in parts of the country, it could make the conditions very tricky for the drivers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a bit of rain on the course and if it remains the same, we could have an interesting two days of action,” he said.<\/p>\n
