Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Despite the Kenya Kwanza Alliance consisting of more than 10 parties, United Democratic Alliance party has pocketed all top seats in the Senate and National Assembly.<\/p>\n

In the list announced by President William Ruto on Sunday, none of the MPs selected for top leadership in the Assembly came from the other parties that makes up the coalition.<\/p>\n

The alliance consists of members from more than six parties including Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC, Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya, Amason Kingi’s PAA, Alfred Mutua’s MCC, Mwangi Kiunjuri’s TSP among others.<\/p>\n

They have also brought in Senator Ali Roba’s UDM party and Ugenya MP David Ochieng’s MDG.<\/p>\n

On Saturday the alliance settled on Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw’ah as National Assembly Majority leader.<\/p>\n

Ichung’wa, a UDA MP, was selected for the post during the Alliance’s Parliamentary Group meeting held in Naivasha.<\/p>\n

Ichung’wa will be deputised by Owen Baya, also a UDA MP.<\/p>\n

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has been selected the National Assembly Chief Minority Whip.<\/p>\n

Osoro will be deputised by Naomi Waqo, Marsabit Woman representative. The two were elected on UDA party ticket.<\/p>\n

For the senate majority leader, Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot was appointed.<\/p>\n

Cheruiyot will be deputised by his Nakuru counterpart Tabitha Karanja. The two were elected on a UDA ticket.<\/p>\n

Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale was selected Chief Majority whip at the Senate and will be deputised by his Samburu counterpart Steve Lelegwe.<\/p>\n

The two were also elected on a UDA ticket.<\/p>\n

While PAA and Ford Kenya parties could take refuge on the election of their party leaders Amason Kingi and Moses Wetangula, respectively, as Senate and National Assembly speakers, the rest of the parties have been handed nothing.<\/p>\n

In Azimio la Umoja, the alliance distributed the leadership of the house among top affiliate parties of the coalition.<\/p>\n

The positions were shared among ODM, Wiper and Jubilee parties.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, a principal in the Azimio coalition, unveiled the list of their parliamentary leadership in a press conference at a Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Memorial at Upper Hill, Nairobi.<\/p>\n

At the National Assembly, Kalonzo announced that they have settled on Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi (ODM) as the minority leader and will be deputised by his Kathiani counterpart Robert Mbui (Wiper)<\/p>\n

The coalition appointed Mombasa Senator Steward Madzayo (ODM) as Senate minority leader and will be deputised by Kitui senator Enock Wambua (Wiper).<\/p>\n

Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dulo (Jubilee) was named the minority whip and will be deputised by her Nairobi counterpart Edwin Sifuna (ODM).<\/p>\n

At the National Assembly, Suna east MP Junet Mohamed (ODM) was picked as the coalition’s Chief Minority Whip and will be deputised by nominated MP Sabina Chege (Jubilee).<\/p>\n
