Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday missed the induction of members of the National Assembly and instead was represented by President of the Court of Appeal, Daniel Musinga.<\/p>\n

Koome was to address the 13th Parliament on the interlinkages and inter-dependence between Parliament and the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

In the morning, a section of Azimio lawmakers threatened to stage a walkout on the CJ over what they termed dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court ruling that upheld President Willliam Ruto\u2019s win.<\/p>\n

The lawmakers led by Funyula MP Wilberforce Oundo and Nyando MP Jared Okelo said they take offence with the language used by the Chief Justice in dismissing the Azimio petition.<\/p>\n

Members of the National Assembly on Monday started a week-long induction workshop.<\/p>\n

The induction which is underway at the Safari Park Hotel and will end on Saturday, September 24, 2022.<\/p>\n

According to the programme released by the Office of the Clerk, the legislators were expected to arrive at the Safari Park Hotel by Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

On Monday, they will be taken through their roles, the state of the economy, diplomacy and reputation.<\/p>\n
