Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Cybersecurity company Surfshark has ranked Kenya at position 78 globally on digital well being.<\/p>\n

This on the basis of the Digital Quality of Life index (DQL) that compared a total of 117 countries, 92 per cent representation of global population.<\/p>\n

According to Surfshark, Kenya\u2019s performance on five fundamental pillars of life that the research was based on has remained low bringing it to position 78 in the world and fifth in Africa.<\/p>\n

The evaluation looked at internet quality, e-government, e-infrastructure, internet affordability and e-security.<\/p>\n

Kenya’s weakest spot is internet quality ranked at position 106, which according to the research, it needs to improve by almost 140 per cent to match the best-ranking countries.<\/p>\n

Score in e-infrastructure got the country ranked at position 61, E-security and e-government had the same position rank of 74 whereas internet availability ranked position 93.<\/p>\n

“In the face of waging inflation, fixed broadband internet has become less affordable worldwide for the second year in a row, prying the global digital divide even further,” the report says.<\/p>\n

Kenya has improved by one position from last year when it was ranked 79 overall.<\/p>\n

Israel ranks first in the DQL 2022, pushing Denmark to second position after a two year lead.<\/p>\n

Germany ranks third while France and Sweden come in fourth and fifth, respectively.<\/p>\n

Congo , Yemen, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Cameroon have been ranked bottom five.<\/p>\n
