Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has distanced himself from any association with freemasonry.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Monday, the MP who is also an advocate distanced his law firm, which he co-owns with his business partner Ambrose Rachier.<\/p>\n

His remarks followed an interview by Rachier on NTV where he publicly admitted to be a member of the freemasonry and went on to give insights of what the group is all about.<\/p>\n

The duo have a law firm together dubbed Rachier and Amollo Limited Liability Partnership.<\/p>\n

Amollo insisted that he is not a member of the organisation and that their law firm is not in any way associated with it.<\/p>\n

“Interesting times! Have seen an interview by my Law firm partner Ambrose Rachier on Freemasonry! I am not and will never join Freemasonry! Let it be known that the Law firm of Rachier and Amollo LLP is not associated with the movement,” he tweeted.<\/p>\n

On the Sunday night interview, Rachier said he was introduced to the Freemasonry by two of his friends in 1994.<\/p>\n

“I got interviewed, accepted, got initiated and I’ve since grown to be a senior officer,” he said.<\/p>\n

He added that he is on his 30th degree according to the levels they undergo.<\/p>\n

“There are 3 degrees but there are others that go on until the highest which we call a 33rd degree and that’s symbolic, that’s the age of Jesus. I am now at the 30th degree.”<\/p>\n

The Rarieda MP said he was not aware of his involvement in the society, hence the move to clear the air that he and their firm is not associated.<\/p>\n
