Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>First Community Bank remains in a good position to serve you now and in the long term, the bank has said.<\/p>\n

The statement came after the chaos was witnessed at the bank following a restriction imposed on withdrawals.<\/p>\n

The bank is said to have limited bank withdrawals to a maximum of Sh10,000, a move that allegedly sparked panic withdrawal.<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that there were no cheques cleared as bankers’ cheques allegedly bounced causing an uproar.<\/p>\n

But in a statement on Tuesday, the bank said they experiencing challenges in some of their transactions occasioned by panic withdrawals informed by malicious rumours.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese unprecedented withdrawals have caused a strain on our daily operations, necessitating the Bank under the guidance of the regulator to limit some services,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a responsible Bank, FCB understands that these restrictive measures have not been favourable to our customers but are necessary to maintain stability in the short and long term.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bank said they are working very closely with all our stakeholders to ensure that they continue to offer good and reliable banking services to Kenyans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have and are continuing to implement a number of measures to address the challenges customers are currently experiencing,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe urge our esteemed customers to maintain confidence in First Community Bank, reposed in us over the years and for the general public to engage us directly to obtain accurate information.\u201d<\/p>\n
