Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Thursday chaired a meeting with major environmental stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The meeting sought to define a woman-led climate action agenda.<\/p>\n

The meeting took place at State House, Nairobi.<\/p>\n

Present at the State House were environmental specialists and major environment stakeholders from the Ministry of Health, UNEP and Thunderbird School of Global Management.<\/p>\n

Rachel said the initiative aligns with Government priorities.<\/p>\n

It aims at minimizing vulnerabilities to events related to climate change -such as the ongoing drought – and improving the adaptive capacity of women to climate shocks through greenhouse entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

“A transition to a green economy will result in faster growth and a cleaner environment from a significant reduction in environmental risks ecological scarcities, higher productivity, increased human wellbeing and social equity,” Rachel tweeted.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance was the Principal Secretary Devolution Julius Korir.<\/p>\n
