Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has commended the spouses of KDF officers for their strength and loyalty when their loved ones leave home for duty.<\/p>\n

Ruto pointed out that the same support network steps in when officers are injured in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

“Their work is silent, away from sight with absolute loyalty and dedication to keep families together thereby sustaining an indispensable support network to our officers.”<\/p>\n

The President spoke on Friday during the celebrations to mark KDF Day at the Laikipia Airbase.<\/p>\n

He added that their presence as caregivers has been vital in the recovery journey of the officers whether psychologically or physiologically.<\/p>\n

“We do not take these outstanding form of selfless national service for granted and on behalf of a grateful nation, I appreciate you and I thank you,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ruto urged the officers to carry out their duties on the understanding that they are united in service to uphold, protect and defend the nation and its values.<\/p>\n

“Support one another along the way because we are enlisted in one cause. The cause of one nation and one people,” he added.<\/p>\n

The event was the first military occasion that Ruto presided over since he became President.<\/p>\n

It was held to commemorate the valour and sacrifice of fallen heroes of the Kenya Defence Forces.<\/p>\n
