Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kirinyaga senator James Murango has been elected chairman of Senate Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries committee.<\/p>\n

His Embu counterpart Alexander Mundigi has been elected vice chair of the committee.<\/p>\n

They were elected unopposed.<\/p>\n

Murango has thanked the members for trusting him with the position and promised to lead the committee fairly.<\/p>\n

“Being my first time to chair a Senate committee, I will heavily rely on the experienced members and secretariat to steer this committee,” he said.<\/p>\n

Murango is the immediate former majority leader in the Kirinyaga County Assembly.<\/p>\n
