Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Drama erupted on Wednesday at the Meru County Assembly after MCAs walked out on Governor Kawira Mwangaza.<\/p>\n

In a video that’s gone viral, the MCAs can be heard shouting “Hatutaki!” as they walked out.<\/p>\n

Mwangaza was forced to give her speech outside the Chambers in what was expected to be the official opening of the assembly.<\/p>\n

This comes after the MCAs suspended normal House business on Tuesday to discuss the governor’s conduct.<\/p>\n

Led by Speaker Ayub Bundi, the ward reps resolved to call her out saying she has been disrespectful towards them.<\/p>\n

“The MCAs have agreed that they are not ready to listen to the governor during the address set for this afternoon,\u201d Bundi said.<\/p>\n

They also accused Mwangaza of failing to honour their summons, a claim she dismissed.<\/p>\n

Mwangaza took to her Facebook page to share photos of herself with several MCAs in different public gatherings.<\/p>\n

“Tupatane tomorrow. Leadership is not for cowards,” she captioned the photos.<\/p>\n

The House is yet to vet the County Executive Committee members nominated by the governor.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a local station earlier on Wednesday, Mwangaza claimed the MCAs had planned to use the pending Cabinet nominees to blackmail her.<\/p>\n

“As a governor, I will not be intimidated by anyone because I swore to work for the people. I will not sit in the office to listen to the MCAs because I have to be with the people who voted for me,” she said.<\/p>\n
