Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has told the Ukambani region that he is ready to work with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Sunday when he attended a thanksgiving prayer service at the African In-Land Church, Kitui Township, the president said he is willing to work with Kalonzo, whenever the former vice president is ready.<\/p>\n

Ruto stated that during campaigns, he promised to look for the Wiper leader if he formed government.<\/p>\n

He told Kitui residents that he kept his promise but Kalonzo said he wanted to try working from the opposition.<\/p>\n

“Stephen is my elder brother and when he is ready to work with me, I am ready,” the president said.<\/p>\n

“I told you when I was here that if God willing I become president, I would involve my brother Stephen in forming the government and I want you people to know that I personally looked for him and we had a sit down and I asked him to work with me but Kalonzo said he wanted to try it at the opposition.”<\/p>\n

Ruto said he let Kalonzo try working from the opposition, adding that he is still open for talks later.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the same venue, DP Rigathi Gachagua said they have no problem with the Wiper leader.<\/p>\n

He added that the only issue at hand is that they don’t understand him.<\/p>\n

“Governor Wavinya Ndeti, we have no problem with Kalonzo, we are waiting for him. It is you who will decide what you want with him because we don’t understand him.<\/p>\n

“We looked for him, asked him to join us but he went back to Raila Odinga. Even the day he was ashamed being subjected to the running mate interview it is us who defended him. We don’t know why he is confused,” the DP said.<\/p>\n
