Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A family is seeking for justice after their kin was attacked and injured by her neighbors at a business joint in Nairobi\u2019s Eastleigh area.<\/p>\n

Najma Mohamed Ali is admitted to a city hospital following the October 16, 2022 attack at the Sharjah Mall by eight relatives.<\/p>\n

She sustained multiple injuries in the head and is currently undergoing treatment, police said.<\/p>\n

The incident is now threatening to escalate to clan fighting. This follows last week\u2019s stabbing of a relative of one of the suspected assailants in Eastleigh.<\/p>\n

The man was stabbed in the stomach by a gang which claimed was avenging the attack on Najma and the failure of police to take action.<\/p>\n

But police said they had so far taken action and arrested and questioned one suspect. The suspect was released on bond pending the conclusion of the ongoing probe into the attack.<\/p>\n

Starehe head of DCI Nzau Musengi said his office is handling the matter and the hunt for more suspects is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have located some of the suspects and the hunt for more is ongoing. We will take the necessary action at the right time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The woman says she was attacked because of business rivalry in the area. She runs a beauty products shop.<\/p>\n

She told police the attackers had been mocking her on social media over her business before it degenerated into a physical attack.<\/p>\n

On the day she was attacked, she claims, the assailants lured her to their shop saying they wanted to discuss the business.<\/p>\n

A video that captured the dramatic attack shows a woman sitting on the victim slapping her face before she was given a blunt object that she used to continue hammering her.<\/p>\n

The other assailants stood in the shop and pinned down the victim whenever she tried to rise up.<\/p>\n

They were then seen leaving in a row before the victim was rescued and taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The issue has taken a clan and political dimension amid calls to address it amicably and urgently.<\/p>\n

A member of the family of the victim said they fear there will be revenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they don\u2019t take necessary and urgent action I fear this will be bad,\u201d said the member of the family who added Najma survived by a whisker.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe assailants are now bragging on social media about how they are untouchable and we find it unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
