Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>After failing to beat Kenyatta University over the weekend, Mount Kenya University Woodball team player, Faith Anyango says they will make amends before the next round this weekend.<\/p>\n

Anyango believes the loss was just a one-off lapse and believes they have what it takes to fight for the top position in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m confident that with enough training, we will narrow down the gap and take back our lead,\u201d she said. Anyango admitted that the loss was unexpected since they had prepared well.<\/p>\n

She explained that the dip on the table was ostensibly due to their men’s poor results in the last three matches. The position on the table is dictated by how both the men’s and women’s teams perform.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur men\u2019s team has lost the last three games and we must continue winning if we are to regain our top position,” she said.<\/p>\n

Mount Kenya University\u2019s woodball team will play Kenyatta University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and USIU in their next matches.<\/p>\n

Anyango said they hope to capitalise on the home-ground advantage to deliver good results in the next rounds of matches. \u201cWe expect a clear triumph since the game will be held at our backyard,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said gating has been their main challenge and they are currently working on it to ensure every player uses few strokes to reach the finish.<\/p>\n

After Kenyatta University match, Mt Mount Kenya University will face Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology amongst others and hope to once again deliver.<\/p>\n
