Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto will on Wednesday hold a joint media briefing with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sa\u0301nchez.<\/p>\n

The briefing will be held at State House from 12 noon.<\/p>\n

Early this week, Spain’s ambassador to Kenya Cristina Di\u0301az Ferna\u0301ndez-Gil said the country will continue to strengthen bilateral economic ties with Kenya under the new administration.<\/p>\n

She expressed confidence that under President William Ruto \u0301s mandate, Spain and Kenya will continue working together to consolidate and strengthen the bonds that unite the two states.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe share common interests in the area of economic and trade relations, with an important presence of Spanish companies in Kenya implementing projects in strategic sectors such as energy, transport, water, agriculture and tourism,\u201d Ambassador Gil said.<\/p>\n

The envoy also said the two countries share as a priority the cooperation on security issues and the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

The envoy said some 1,000 Spanish people live in Kenya working as businessmen, international officers, aid workers, religious people, embassy staff and their families.<\/p>\n

On Kenya\u2019s part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Bilateral and Political Affairs director general Ambassador Moi Lemoshira said the two countries enjoy cordial bilateral relations, which have translated into strategic partnerships in regional and international affairs.<\/p>\n
